An oil firm will be creating 20 jobs in an investment of nearly £2 million.
SengS Subsea Engineering Solutions Ltd are due to start work in the next few weeks on a purpose-built manufacturing and testing facility at Balmacassie industrial estate.
The company started trading in June last year and recorded turnover of £1.3 million in the first year.
The second year’s figures are predicted to be in the region of £2 million.
Rapid expansion has led to the investment of £1.8 million in the new facility at Balmacassie.
SengS project director Murray Kerr said:
“The initial investment is estimated to create over 20 permanent jobs within the first 15 months of the building being completed.”
“This investment is the first of a number of developments that will promote SengS profile within the oil and gas sector and emerging energy markets, helping us to compete more energetically with other oil and gas engineering service companies which are based in UK and mainland Europe.”
“Our expansion is a significant mark of our intent to build on our current success and improve our service levels for our clients and future clients.”
Construction work will begin in October, and the facility will be fully operational by spring of next year.
